Position Overview
We are looking for an innovative and detail-oriented IP Specialist to manage, protect, and enhance the intellectual property assets of MangoBoost. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and develop employee inventions, conducting patent-related analyses, and designing IP strategies aligned with the company’s business objectives. The IP Specialist will also manage administrative tasks associated with internal IP processes and external interactions with legal counsel, patent offices, and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities & Opportunities
IP Development and Management
- Work with various teams to identify and develop patentable inventions.
- Coordinate with external patent attorneys on prosecution matters.
- Review IP documentation such as invention disclosures, patent applications, and licensing agreements.
- Monitor deadlines for patent filings, renewals, and office actions to ensure timely compliance.
- Keep organized records of IP activities, including budgets, filings, and correspondence.
- Oversee the company's entire IP portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
IP Strategy
- Align IP efforts with the company’s business strategy.
- Regularly monitor competitors' IP activities and address potential IP risks.
- Provide guidance on licensing opportunities and IP transactions.
Education and Advocacy
- Educate internal teams on IP matters and foster a culture of innovation through training and workshops.
- Advise engineers on best practices for IP documentation and invention disclosures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in patent drafting, filing, prosecution, and IP management.
- Familiarity with patent databases, IP management tools, and relevant legal frameworks.
- Strong understanding of patent law and IP protection processes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for interacting with various teams and external parties.
- Strong organizational skills to efficiently manage IP-related tasks.
- Proficient analytical and research skills for assessing patentability and potential infringements.
- Collaborate with engineers to make decisions on patent filings, and independently manage the entire patent application process.
Preferred Qualifications
- Korean Patent Attorney
- Experience as an in-house IP counsel
- Knowledge of computer system and semiconductor technologies and their potential IP implications.
- Proven track record of handling patents in fields such as hardware, software, cloud computing, or storage technologies

Notice Regarding Return of Hiring Documents
- This notice is in accordance with Article 11, Section 6 of the Fair Hiring Procedure Act, which allows job applicants, excluding the final successful candidate, to request the return of any recruitment documents they have submitted.
- Job applicants who were not selected as the final candidates in the recruitment process are entitled to request the return of the recruitment documents they submitted within 180 days of the date the employment decision is confirmed. However, this does not apply to documents submitted via the website or email, or documents voluntarily submitted by the applicant without the company’s request. If the recruitment documents are lost due to natural disasters or other reasons for which the company is not responsible, it will be considered as having been returned.
- Applicants wishing to request the return of their recruitment documents should fill out the Request for Return of Hiring Documents [Form 3 of the Enforcement Rules of the Fair Hiring Procedure Act] and submit it by email ([email protected]). The documents will be sent by registered mail to the designated address within 14 days from the confirmation of submission. Please note that the cost of registered mail will be borne by the recipient.
- The company will keep the recruitment documents for 180 days following the confirmation of the employment decision. If no request for the return of documents is made within that period, the company will dispose of all recruitment documents without delay in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.
